Do they design fuel station pumps to pump slow so that you feel like you are getting more? Automotive service station fuel pumps pump 20 gallons like molasses, taking 5 or 6 minutes or more. When I fuel up a boat in a marina, that fuel pump can pump 120 gallons in under 2 minutes. Why is this? I would tend to believe that rapid refuelling equals more revenue to the fuel station. More customers could get in and out within a shorter time period.
does a gas station pump still function without electriticy? Also, if it doesn't work without electricity, then is there a non-electric way of getting some gas?
gas leaking from a pump station? I went to the gas station this morning to full my tank & when i took the gas pump out gas started coming out like crazy. it damage my jacket and my hand was wet & the smell is so strong.i feel little bumps in my hand. & headche. my husband wants to call a lawyer & sue the gas station. i didnt complain this morning to the attendant inside the shop since it was a long line of people waiting to pay & i was running late. my question is..should i sue or what should i do** serious answers please. thanks in advance.
If you accidently disconnect a gas station pump, do both hoses and the breakaway have to be replaced normally? Specifically, forgetting to disconnect the gas pump after fueling the car and then driving about five feet before realizing the pump was still connected and then stopping. The clerk initially stated that the hose could be reconnected, but took my phone number as standard practice. I have now received a bill for about $500, stating that the breakaway, whip hose, and hose had to be replaced, as well as labor charges. Interestingly, online prices for those items appear to be less than half of the prices on the bill sent to me. Just wondering if this seems realistic.

I tried to do it but it charged me 61 cents and didnt fill my car's tank? These are the steps I took: I inserted and removed my credit card pressed debit and entered my pin pressed 87 octane removed the pump and started fueling. But it didnt work, it charged me 61 cents What did I miss? I forgot to mention that I ofcourse pressed the lever of the pump but Im not sure if I pressed it to hard.
I am thinking about opening a gas station with an E85 pump.? I am working on a business plan to open one. I believe It will be a regular gas station with an addition of an E85 pump. Is there different rules or regulations about E85 pumps? Or if I franchise a gas statiuon, would they let me add E85 to it? Has anyone heard of gasoline leaking from a pump at a service station, upon attempting to put gas into a car? I have been searching all over the web to try to understand what happened last week at a service station. I began to try to pump gas into my car, and it started leaking all over my car and onto the ground. My tank was about a quarter full at the time. The attendant was quite dismissive of the problem, and attributed it to a buildup of gases in my tank that he said would not allow the additional volume to enter. Does this explanation make sense to any of you experts? It was just after 9pm in Houston, for those of you who asked about the heat factor.

Each year the pump is losing more and more of its prime, now only after a few minutes of shut down, it takes the pump about 2 minutes to pressurize back up in order to run. Pay at the pump. How much further would you drive to avoid going inside the gas station? Why? Why would a gas station clerk call the cops on someone who tried to use an invalid credit card at the pump? Cedric Cebbalos (ex phoenix suns and Laker player) was recently arrested for driving on a suspended license. My question is how he got arrested. He tried to pay at the pump with a credit card that was no longer valid and the gas station attendant called the cops, even though he eventually did pay with a valid card. I did not know that making a mistake with an old expired credit card was a crime and cause for suspicion. The clerk never aksed for his id. Cedric is far from poor and makes good money as a Suns field commentator. Is that standard policy to call the cops if your card does not go through ? I find this all very strange. Let me note that I am not in anyway agreeing with his behavior of driving around on a suspended license.
