How does a Grinder Pump set-up work (Sewer)?

Small Cottage (Kitchen and small Bathroom) needs to be pumped about 175 feet to closest sewer line.

1. pretty simple. there is a plastic barrel that is typically inset in the basement floor. the sewage drains in there. In the barrel is a pump which grinds the poop and pumps it uphill to the septic.
