Sewers

I want to install washer/dryer in basement, how does waste water get pumped to sewer line in ceiling?

The basement has a water heater in it, the house has the connections for the washer in the kitchen area upstairs The plumbing/pipes for the house are exposed in the basement ceiling. One of my concerns is how the water from the washer is pumped up into the sewer line in the ceilling

  1. You need a sump basin installed and a sump pump and associated plumbing. If you want a potty too for No2 you need a sealed and vented basin with an effluent pump. The washing machine pump may pump to the ceiling but you would want a check valve in the discharge line Where does your basement drains drain to?
