Sewers
we have a sewer smell only with cold weather?
We have been experiencing a sewer smell with cold weather when we do the wash or take a shower. We have had the septic tank pumped. We have checked all drains and we have made sure that all drains are trapped. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? We don't have any water out back near the leech field so we know that its not backed up there. Thanks

- You mayhave a drain that is leaking in the crawlspace under the house. It only gets smelly in the cold weather since that is when the air ducting blows the air around the most. Otherwise, Its possible that the piping break is inside the walls. Even if the drains are trapped, be certain that all drains have also had regular use. IE. If a sink or bath has not been used for more than a month, pour a quart of water into it to fill the trap with water.
