  1. best idea is to contact city hall .... dont go digging till u get the info
  2. We used to have a septic tank. We had to pay $6000 to connect to the sewer line. The company we hired to do the work had to get all the necessary permits. Then we had to spend $1000 to get black dirt and reseed the area. Check your yellow pages and ask your neighbors who is good in your area.
  3. I also think that City Hall does the work, but they bill you... often people just keep rooting the line out - call the sewer roto rooter guy - give him some money under the table, and he will do a much better job. Possibly if pre- arrange an apointment every three months, this will solve the problems. It is expensive to have city hall do the work.
  4. Call a professional. This is something that if not done correctly can cause a lot of internal damage to your home and endless frustration in correcting the improper installation. This said, call several plumbing companies and have them bid against each other. Try to avoid MR.Rooter is there is one in your area.
  5. At one time at one of my houses I had to re-plumb. The city isn't responsible/have liability for, anything on your property, other than an easement perhaps. I hired a plumbing contractor,,,BUT,,, I was graced by a reduction in the cost, by trenching the existing lines myself. In Florida they were nearly 2 feet below ground level, and care is needed certainly. If you go this route determine the ingress/egress points and dig carefully. If the job is too intensive, pay the money and have the job done correctly, and insurabley. Rev. Steven Shop locally
