How much should it cost to have a sewer line professionally replaced?
Southern California, distance from house to property line is aprox. 40ft. switching from clay to ABS pipe.

- that depends on the contractor, call and get estimates
- I have replaced many sewer lines. On most homes, a cast iron pipe was used which exits the house under the footings, usually protruding at least one foot. Any reliable contractor will start the new line at this point & continue until he reaches the sewer main. In many towns or cities, the sewer main is located in the middle of the street, as evidenced by cast iron sewer access lids. The City Utilities will locate the sewer for you. I would estimate it will cost you from $2800 to $3000 for the complete task. I would obtain two or three estimates from qualified contractors in your area.
