What happens if you flush baby wipes that say do not flush?

We have a sewer system toilet not a septic tank or anything.....

  1. They will probably clog the system and cause your toilet to back up.
  2. You've broken a law. duh.
  3. it can still clogg your toilet
  4. You have to use your neighbor's toilet, and get a massive bill from the plumber, when he has to unblock yours
  5. If the wipes say do not flush they probably aren't biodegradable. It can cause clogs in the sewage pipes if you are on a sewer system. All of that waste, (crap), that goes down the toilet goes to the sewer treatment plant where they filter out the sewer water. Some things, like baby wipes, and tampons are hard to get through the treatment system and they sometimes clog the filtration system at the plant. If you had a septic system things like baby wipes and tampons will not decompose and will clog up the septic tank forcing all the nasty things that go down the toilet back up into your house and/or yard. It will smell really bad and later on you will have a very large mess on your hands resulting in a large bill from the company who has to come to your house to pump the tank and repair the problem. Not to mention both scenarios pollute the environment.
  6. Here's the number for some help with that question: 1-800-plumber
