how might wastewater in the home be recycled instead of being poured into the sewer system?

- some homes plumb the grey water (water from the sinks, washing machines and tubs) run into a sump and have them pumped out into the lawn or gardens.
- you can put buckets in the shower and water plants with them afterwards. could also connect the grey water to a watering system to water your plants.
- Whats wrong with pouring it into the sewer? Municipal treatment plants recycle it along with your poop water. Or did you think they just threw discharged it untreated into some mountain spring?
- Greywater systems can recycle it for yard use. Put a bucket under the tub faucet while your'e waiting for the hot water to come, and use that fresh water to water plants, flush the toilet, hell if your bucket's clean you can cook or make drinks with it, it's the same water as in the kitchen! feces can be converted into a nutrient-rich and sanitary mulch, one that you can actually handle with your bare hands, but it takes a couple of years and you have to have the right setup to do that and it's probably only worth it if you have a farm.
