Are there really alligators in the NYC sewer system?

I've always wondered this. I think it would be so cool. I would go down there and play with them.

1. No, i read it in a myth book. Would be cool though they just would'nt be able to survive down there (no food source, etc.)

3. All sorts of other organisms live in there why not alligators.

5. Nope. They're crocodiles :)
6. no. Only one was ever found and I believe it was escaped from the zoo.
