Size of Septic System ?
I bought 1/2 an acre peice of land, and have been waiting patiently for sewer to reach the home, but it does not appear like its going to happen. Is it possible for some type of septic system such as the new pete moss systems or an above ground system that would fit on a 1/2 acre lot? If i'm able to buy a lot or two next to me and increase it to one acre will their be any chances? p.s.-- the lot is in Virginia

- plumbing codes differ from state 2 state most septic systems are designed after the house size depends on # of bathrooms and bedrooms here in illinois you need 2 tanks for environmental issues and also to allow for expansion of the house but first you will have to have the soil tested 2 see if it drains adequately you schould have required that before you bought
- There are all sorts of variables when dealing with a septic system. i.e. soil type, size of house, number of bedrooms, water tables and on and on. I would go to the building department and find out what the local requirements are. A half acre should be sufficient for a tile bed but you never know until you ask someone familiar with the local conditions and bylaws
