plumbing problems?
Ok first thing is.I live in a whole house in the city.In the basment the floor drain flooded all over the place spewing what I think is sewage.well anyway the drain eventually went down but went up again later,Than drained agian. now the toilet dont flush sometimes and its not pluged. Also the toilet bubbles when when its flushed,Or when its just sitting there. what can this be. The sump pump works fine and is doing its job, So it can't be that. Im guessing the problem could be roots in the sewer pipe, or a clogged/ice covered vent.

- your guesses are more than likely correct. if your house is old and the septic lines are old, or if you live close to some kind of manufacturing, your lines are probably clogged with something. you need to call in professionals and get it taken care of because of the mold and unsanitary conditions that it creates
- You have a stoppage .... it may be due to the Sewer backing up into your home? I don't know ? but ...slow drains and "gurgling" toilets sounds like stoppage to me. * fill your Washing Machine and then drain it ....if it comes up in a tub/shower or other drain ...you FOR SURE have a Mainline stoppage Also...be sure to tell the City where you live what happened. talk to your neighbors too ;)
- Call a plumber or rooter service to clear the line. Call first thing in the morning.
- Much like the above responses except that you indicate backup when the home fixtures are not being used. This would then indicate a blockage in the main, on the street - or - if you're in a townhouse, a blockage in the main going through your block of homes. Ask your neighbours on either side if they're having any issues. Bottom line - someone with a large drain machine is going to be doing some clearing - but call your local municipal office first. If the problem is on the street, then they're on the hook to get it cleaned up.
