vacuum break valve & well service valve?

Hi, There is a sewer pump station with 2 pumps running on one duty only (so, dont run simultanously!) is there a need for a vacuum break valve & a well service valve to be inserted inside the valve pit (which is about 1 meter away from the station)? Thanks

  1. You may need a vacuum break valve to empty the intake sewer line, but not a well service valve, since the sewage will drain back into the pit as soon as you open the vacuum break valve. You should have a check valve, and a service valve, on the discharge side of the pumps. .
