Sewers

How much does it cost to have a specialist drain my pool?

It is an underground pool. And the water can't be pumped to the sewer because it is downhill, so that's why i need a professional. And the previous owners of this house left the water so dirty it is black.

  1. You may need to consider a pumping truck that can actuallt remove the bad water...
  2. This type of work will vary according to the region you live in. The best thing to do is get on the phone and start calling, making it clear that you are getting bids. I wouldn't go with the cheapest bid...the one in the middle is the one I generally choose. Be sure to get the bid in writing along with EVERYTHING that will be included to get the job done.
  3. Where we live we are allowed to pump pool water into the street, providing the flow is no more than a typical garden hose - which most are. Of course I imagine the water you describe may be putrid?!?! If draining onto your property or street is not allowed or unacceptable, perhaps a septic service would accept this waste? Some people call these trucks "Honey Dippers". I would get a quote from a septic pump service and a pro-pool outfit you were talking about and go with the cheapest.
  4. If you were to us a septic pumper the usually charge $250 per 500 gal of sewage, but they may charge less for your situation. how big of a yard do you have? the water would be a great fertalizer, even if you have to pump it out over a couple of weeks, you can get a good sump pump from Lowes for around $150 and hook it up to a sprinkler and water your lawn and your neighbors lawn for lots cheaper than paying someone.
