RV maintenance help?
The family is renting an RV again this summer and I am trying to figure out how to empty the sewer. Last summer I tried emptying the poop from the vehicle and the hose unloaded all over my mailman who was underneath the RV helping me connect the hose. where can i read how to clean out the septic system from an RV ?

- ask the place you rent it from they will have the correct info
- Ask them to show you when you pick it up. They are usually more than willing. Especially since not showing you could mean getting it back with full tanks. It is a nasty job, but one that CAN be accomplished with little or no mess. They should show you where to attach the hose first and how to open the drain once you have it in place on both ends. The gray and black water usually dump form the same place with opening a different valve. Do the black water (poop) first, then the gray (sinks) second to flush out the line. Good Luck & have fun. - Just WHERE are you emptying it? I put in a connection to my sewer system. I doubt you did. It sounds like you were dumping it in to the street's storm drains that flow in to our lakes and streams. You can't do that. You need to go to an RV dump site to empty your sewage. Don't pollute our lakes and streams.
