  1. call roto rooter thats the name and away go troubles down the drain
  2. A camera inspection might find the problem (there are cameras designed for sewer inspection). See if you can find a company that only does camera work, like a leak detection outfit - one that doesn't do repairs. If there's a big tree near the building drain, the roots may have found their way in.
  3. I am not sure that I really understand exactly what kind of drain you might have that is outside. However, this might be of some help. Around here (Indiana) most folks have floor drains in their garages. But the thing is, lots of them are not hooked into the sewer or into the septic tank, They are just pipes that dead end in a bed of gravel. They are designed to handle the water that comes in on a car (rain, snow) or to hose off the garage floor. I found this out when my son tried to run his washing machine into the garage floor drain. He called a "roto-guy" who determined that the floor drain just went a few feet beyond the house and stopped. He said this was quite common for garage floor drains. The drain in my garage is the same. I tried to drain the backwash water from my water softener into it and the drain would not take it. My plumber told me the same thing. I don't know if this applies to your rear drain but it might be something to consider.
