How much would it cost to replace a septic system?
My wife and I are looking at a house that needs a new septic system. We have no idea how much, in general, a septic system would cost to replace.

- I needed a septic system and it runs around $10k-20K, I thought that was expensive but it was the cheapest I found
- Make replacing it a requirement for the seller prior to your buying it. Last year when I bought our home, that was part of the purchase agreement that the seller would replace the septic. It cost them about $9,000.

- Mapleguy is correct, thtas's the seller's resposibility, it wouldn'tr pass inspection for sale. at least demand to split the cost, but really you shouldn't have pay at all, that's up to the seller.
