What effect does sugar have on a septic system treated with yeast?

In a cooking enviroment, sugar feeds yeast does this apply to a septic system?

  2. Ethonol, water, heat, and Co2 would be produced.
  3. There are carbon sources in your waste products. The yeast, as well as many other microorganisms are feeding off the carbon sources in that waste material. Sugar would have no adverse effect on your system. Except probably creating a build up of CO2 gas and heat.
  4. To a limited extent, yes. However, there is not much oxygen in a septic system, so you'll get limited fermentation but not ful breakdown of the sugars. Also, it depends on the pH of the septic system and the tolerences of yeast to high or low pH.
